I would love one of these for zooming about the city....but as a mother of two it is just not practical....maybe one day.....a holiday on the French or Italian Riviera with my husband in charge of the steering would suit me just fine....
Sounds like a plan....
Just my style....baskets on the front and the back....newspapers, flowers, baguette.....and me looking chic in a tea-dress and a pretty hat....

Simple pleasures and simple photos..love the green bike with the roses in the basket on the back. Oh,, and the scooter, would like to have one too... no kids anymore, but winter makes it difficult..next summer maybe.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the club!!!!!! Ohhh! God How i would love to have one two!!! I've asked!... i've done special dinners!... with special wines!... and special desserts!.... and special after dinner!... but no chance of getting one!!! My husband keeps on saying "too dangerous for a mother!!!"" Does that mean i will never get one?!!! Once you're a mom when do you stop being one?!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy day,
Rosa

Hi babe,
ReplyDeletecracking me up as usual.... you can do a running commentary all day at mine as far as I'm concerned doll.
Have a set of photo's with #4 will do a post eventually on it ... but my fav photo is the gorgeous #8 wow just love it.
Is it night time ... sweet dreams if it is.
xoxo
Will hop on one of those and be over for tea ~ or wine....depending on what time I actually get there! Loving #6.... Have a wonderful week Simone!
ReplyDeleteHi there - love those women looking attractive on bikes. That is hard to pull off especially with the compulsory bike helmet you have to wear in Australia. I must admit Helmet Head does put me off somewhat. But my long term plan once children more coordinated is to get stylish italian bike, and ride nonchalantly back from market and to and fro, great for the legs... xoxo
ReplyDeleteHave to say, I have a bit of an obession with bicycle pictures. Beautiful selection you've posted!
ReplyDeletelovely bicycles. I want one now!
ReplyDeleteSimone,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and light-hearted post!
Marjorie
Look girlie - that is BICYCLETTE - come on, practice!!!

ReplyDeleteOh Simone, what a beautiful post. This is the tonic I need after party weekend. I honestly felt too tired to think about blogging, but thought I'd just have a quick peak at the bottom of the basket, and you've brightened my day yet again. Also your lovely comments to me very much appreciated. xx
ReplyDeleteps. bikes are cool.
This makes me want to steal away on my daughters beach cruiser bike with her cute basket and go out to the farmers market for produce, bread, flowers and a stop at the cafe....but alas, she is so busy riding it, I think I need my own. Lovely lovely post, Simone...gorgeous photos! You always know how to make us smile! XXOO
ReplyDeleteHappy week to you Simone!
ReplyDeleteLove this series of images - makes me want to put on a frilly long skirt, some lace-up boots, and pedal my way to the flower shop!
I have the bike in front of the poem-I ride it to and from my car to my office at the university. Parking costs a fortune and I needed exercise. So I park a mile out and cycle in. Now if i could get a basket and plant flowers on it and still ride it...wouldnt that be grand! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Simone please buy the scooter & use it when the kids are at school...be practical later
ReplyDelete:) Cate
Why is it that the French and Italian women look so chic on their bikes?
ReplyDeleteWe were in the gorgeous medieval town of Lucca, Italy this summer and most people rode bikes (as cars are not allowed in) and boy did those women look fabulous!
Even an elderly woman with her little dog in a basket looked so elegant!!
Great post Simone!
I love Image 4 .... have a great week.
What a fantastic post. I absolutely love all the photos, can't pick a favorite! I love bicycles and they definitely make amazing photos as well!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
I have a lovely bike with a basket on the front, & love getting out around the waterfront with my girls. I agree with Jane though - helmet head is so not attractive! At least I give Lycra a wide berth!!!
ReplyDeleteI too would love a Vespa~ x
ReplyDeleteOh, Simone... I know that you will think that I'm just saying this, but I was thinking of doing a post on bicycles ( we both have such good taste !!!!) as there are some lovely photographs around..... and you have found some beauties....... and like you say, fairy lights look good on anything....you can't have too many white fairy lights.
ReplyDelete... and the ones with flowers in their baskets... I have one on my sidebar....so beautiful.
A wonderful, fun and charming post. XXXX
Hi, Such a great post on bicycles, love the basket on the back with flowers. Have a sweet day! x
ReplyDeleteHi Simone...missed your wonderful posts! Always full of gorgeous photos and lots of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteKeep saying I'm gonna buy a bicycle...Hmmm...Really, I don't know what I'm waiting for...;)

Old bicycles are just so charming. I'm a horrible cyclist though so I just admire them from afar. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Simone, I missed you while I was away. Your posts are just the thing to perk me up. Lovin' all the bike pictures. I would love one of those:) Hope you are having a great day on the other side of the world.
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend is restoring an old scooter for me. I can't wait for it to be finished and to pick the color! Im thinking sparkle pink maybe?
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to break out into that Queen song...."BIIIII-cycle, BIIIII-cycle, I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike!" I think you should definitely get a vintage bike with a basket on the front and then ride through your local park, singing that song at the top of your lungs. I dare you...Meredy xo.
ReplyDeleteLoved this post. There is something about photos of bicycles that I find interestingly appealing and amusing. Great photo selections.
