Think Pink....

Sadly, there can't be many people who have not been affected in some way by breast cancer....October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this post is dedicated to those who are fighting it today and to those who are survivors of this terrible disease.....it is also for my mother in law Luisa who lost her battle with it almost two years ago and to my aunt Rosemary who fought so hard but who lost her battle just one month ago.

  8. I am truly sorry to hear about how this disease has effected you and your family. I think it is so easy for us to take things for granted..I am very guilty of that.. my office actually has an awareness booth set up today.. I've ignored the emails to go visit, but thanks to your post, I think I will stop by on my break and pick up some of the literature... On another note, as always, beautiful pictures.. I found a home in my neighborhood with a bright pink door.. the house was white.. it was perfection.. I took a picture of it but unfortunately I don't have it loaded to show you.. it was lovely though... also not a square front door, one that is rounded at the top.... it was perfection..

  15. I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother in law and of your aunt.

I've lost a close friend to breast cancer, and another 2 are fighting it now.

Do you mind if I do a similar post? I had a pictorial one set up to go as well, inspired by this blog but I dont' want to 'steal', if you know what I mean.

  18. Beautiful inspiring post Simone!
My mama is a survivor, so I am definitely thanking my lucky stars for having her here with us today.
Sadly, there are those we love who are not so fortunate when it comes to this horrific nightmare.
At least these images remind us that the world is a beautiful place and one day there will be a cure!

  19. So much beauty, so little time, we have to live and love every minute we have. Many of us have had a brush with this awful disease, and you realise very quickly just what is important in life. A beautiful post Simone, tears prickle for the sorrow of some and at the beauty of the images. xx

  20. Oh Simone....very close to your heart is this post ... and so recent, but a lovely tribute and remembrance to those who have been affected by breast cancer. These are magical images in pink, that jog our memory to remember how lucky we are to be alive and to enjoy all of the beauiful things in life.
.... and on a lighter note, lets all have a glass of pink champagne in rememberance..cheers Simone and keep smiling. XXXX

  25. Beautiful post Simone!
I'm not a big fan of pink ... but whenever I see it (especially this post) there is something soothing about this colour.

We all need to be reminded of this terrible illness and to remember to do a routine breast check, ourselves ... once a month!
