Christmas Fabulousness....

So Christmas Eve is almost here....
I have written my lists and checked them twice....
just a couple of gifts to collect tomorrow locally and I am done!

The candles around the house are lit and it's all feeling very cosy....I'm off to sit by the Christmas tree and watch some Christmas TV and movies....

Christmas for us is about simple pleasures....early mornings with the children jumping out of bed with excitement, opening all our stockings in our big bed together, chocolate and clementines from the stockings for a pre-breakfast treat (I've done that since I was little!) calls to friends and family....delicious food....visiting family in London....and snuggling together early evening watching Christmas films.....good times!

I hope you all have the most wonderful Christmas wherever you are and whoever you are sharing it with xxxx

PS My children loved watching the Santa Norad Tracker last year....tracking his progress across the world. As I type, my son is perched on the kitchen table waiting for Father Christmas to leave the North Pole on his journey across the world :)

  8. Simone said... opening all our stockings in our big bed together (we all have one!),

Ummm, a bed or stockings? :)~

Wishing you and your family a lovely, Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years.
I'm interested in what Christmas movies you and your family watch together? There are just TOO many Christmas movies to choose from and I could very well say, "I love them ALL!" I adore the "Christmas Story." It airs here in the US, on a national TV channel, for 24 hours. A continuous loop of joy and smiles. I have it on DVD and play it on the days preceding and succeeding Christmas. During the hours when I'm not in a loopy mood, okay, l-o-o-p-i-e-r mood, I love watching "Home Alone" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." Oh, the classics "White Christmas," A Christmas Carol, "Miracle on 34th Street," and "Christmas in Connecticut" are worthwhile choices. I also like "The Holiday," "Christmas With the Kranks," and "The Family Stone." "Noel" is a poignant must see -- as long as you don't watch it alone. Does "Bridget Jones's Diary" count? I absolutely love the "Rudolph Christmas "jumper" scene. Well, MAYBE I love Mark Darcy -- Colin Firth. ::sighing:: All in all, whichever movie one chooses, I believe it's "with whom" one watches it "with" is what makes the movie memorable.
    Merry Christmas.

  9. Oh sweet girl ~ you know I wish you and your brood the best Christmas ever. You always find the best photos too! Hugs and Love from across the pond. xo

  13. Morning Simone, knew I could rely you on you for a veritable Christmas feast of pictures! I am with you - stockings in bed, clementines for breakfast (and maybe some scrambled eggs with smoked salmon when we get up). It's all rather lovely isn't it? I feel particularly lucky this year...not sure why? Maybe my advancing years have given me some perspective? Anyway - have a very happy Christmas Eve my sweet...much love my blog friend, Lou Lou xxx

  14. Merry Christmas - sounds like a lovely day.

I'm imagining the candy cone in the first picture is in a cup of boozy hot chocolate and am wondering if it is too early for one. Maybe.

I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow.

  15. Happy Holidays Simone!
Your plans with your family sound wonderful.
It is the first time in a long time that we all wake up in our own beds for Christmas ... and I'm really looking forward to it!

Have a restful time and looking forward to reading more of your blogs in the New Year.

  16. Dear Simone
It's late on Christmas Eve here in Sydney and I am sitting here waiting for my family to all arrive at my sister's place in my beloved Sweden so that I can call and talk to all of them!
We've had a wonderful day with sun, snorkeling and picnic on the beach - far fetched from cozy snowy celebration you will have in Europe this year!

I love your plan for Christmas Day and love the pre-breakfast 'stocking snacks' and all the joy that the children bring to the holidays.
I tucked my little darlings in early-ish but there were giggles well past 9pm and two rosy, bright eyed little trolls finding it impossibly to fall asleep.. :)

Big Christmas hugs to you and thank you for a wonderful year of amazing inspiration. As you know I absolutely adore you and your corner of the cyber world. Coming here is like taking a happy pill!

    All the best for 2011!

    xx Charlotta

  17. Dear Simone, your Christmas sounds perfect!

I am so glad I'm all done. I shall not get dressed today if I can help it. I'll wear something glamorous and float around the house all day. The Actor is wearing his satin smoking jacket I bought him last year (and probably going to lounge around while I wait on him!). We're doing presents at midnight as we're off to his sister's for the day tomorrow.

Have a fabulous time and thank you for all your support this year. Love Christina xx

  18. thank you Simone, for all your beautiful posts and inspiration. your plans are just perfect. wish you a merry Christmas with your loved ones! xo Caroline
