Friday Fabulousness....

....photo by Carter Smith....

A little wisdom and a lot of glamour and sheer beauty....perfect for a Friday.

We are starting a holiday week-end here in England....and it's one full of parties for me....a catch-up dinner with three girlfriends tonight, a grown-up party tomorrow, a family party on Sunday and a 4 year old pirate party....help! I  am also hoping to take a few hours just to steal away somewhere quiet and just sit and read, I have been missing that this week....

It's been another fun week in the world of blogs, thank you for all for some wonderful comments....
am glad that you enjoyed my "Top Five...."....I resisted including George today since even I know you can have too much of a good thing ;)

Thank you to Tania at Backwards in High Heels and to my most favourite blog-discovery of the week. the fabulous Fashion's Most Wanted for my Beautiful Blogger Award.

Tania is a wonderful writer, a published writer and someone whose work I have been reading in different magazines for years, I was thrilled when I found she also wrote a blog - and equally excited when I found out she was reading my blog!

Christina writes Fashion's Most Wanted and I am convinced she is possibly London's most stylish and glamorous girl....her blog is gorgeous!  Such an interesting read, it's full of quotes, movies, glamour and so much more....

 Thank you very much!

Have a wonderful week-end!

Beautiful Blogs : dress design decor....

dress design decor is a blog that I have been following for some time now. Written by Canadian graphic designer Daniella, it is a a very stylish read. Gorgeous images, bucket-loads of glamour, fabulous interiors - so much inspiration beautifully presented - you won't ever be disappointed. Daniella also writes about her life and lifestyle too - her fun week-ends, her plans, new things she has discovered....she is a sweet girl!

Pop over and visit her - become her 1000th follower - all those fans can't be wrong!

Happy Wednesday!

My Top Five....

My friend Liz over at ...but then i had kids passed on to me the Plastic Joy award.

As part of this award, I need to list five characters (ie, not the actors who play them) who...well, who I would like to get better acquainted with...if you catch my drift...

I had a hard time choosing but here are my top five, in no particular order....

1. Dr Doug Ross....I think George has played some great characters in his movies but I still think Dr Ross was one of his best roles....a very hot pediatrician, what's not to love, as they say? And he did the right thing and ended up with Nurse Carol....

2. Vincent Mancini.....I will always have a huge crush on Andy Garcia....violent movies are not for me at all but I loved him in "Godfather 3"....handsome, strong, loyal to his family and falls in love with his cousin even when he knows he shouldn't....

3. Jack Bauer....not my type physically but as anyone who watches "24" knows, you cannot help but root for Jack and fall for him in some way...in my case, hook, line and sinker.......the show is addictive and Kiefer Sutherland is brilliant in the role....strong, fiercely loyal but also emotionally vulnerable....when he falls in love, he falls hard....

4. Gordon Gekko....I do love a man in a suit and braces (as we call them in England.).....I worked in The City (London's financial district) for some years, I think that's why, it's life in the fast lane for sure. Powerful, ruthless and sexy....Michael Douglas....

5. Sam Baldwin....Wonderful father, great sense of humour, has loyal friends, follows his heart (eventually!).....I love this man!

For my troubles, this is my award....as Liz says...."probably not what Mattel had in mind...."!

I shall pass this on to (with no obligation at all....)

Happy Monday...

via Cathi's lovely blog here

This is just how I am feeling today....balanced, positive and hopeful....

....not sure if it's just being one year older....
....the beautiful sunshine we have been having here in London....
....my Britney Spears performance at a party on Saturday night - my husband's face was quite the picture :)
.....or perhaps all of the above....

....or the fact that having been so inspired by the amazing performances at the London Marathon yesterday, I have today signed up to run a 5K race in aid of Breast Cancer Care in September - with a group of friends. It might not sound that far to many people but I am not a runner so it will be a great challenge and I am really looking forward to it!

Thank you so much for all the wonderful birthday wishes on Friday....so many of them! You are all really kind and said the nicest things....it definitely made it a very special birthday, one of my loveliest for a few years......THANK YOU!!!! xx

Just to add, that the ballet was absolutely beautiful....and made even more interesting by person snoring loudly behind us AND the extremely mischievous two year old French boy sitting directly in front of me. I have a four year son and you couldn't pay me to take him to the ballet so I couldn't feel too irritated by him, I'm sure he could think of other places he would rather have been on a Friday evening!

Happy Monday!!!

A Little Birthday Fabulousness....

....Happy Birthday....

....to me...!

....I would love to be waking up here in a leisurely manner....maybe about 11am....woken by a beautiful breakfast tray....after I have dreamt of....

....a handsome stranger....

....my favourite holiday location....

....a beautiful dress or two....

....and dashing young men bearing gifts....(on the day I was born, 23 April, my Dad likes to remind me that it was snowing in Wales as I arrived....)

I shall, however, be starting off my day in bed with my children....doing the school run as fast as I can....meeting a friend for breakfast and coffee....

....treating myself to some flowers....

....did I mention how much I love birthday cake....

....popping in to the hair salon (and wishing they could make my hair look this fabulous!)....

....having lunch with one of my favourite lunch-dates, my 4 year old son, at the cafe in the local woods....

....then after a quick tea and no doubt us all having a turn at blowing the candles out, my daughter and I will be heading into town to the ballet....her first visit and my first for some years, I can't wait....the perfect day!

(My husband and I would have celebrated on Saturday with a special dinner but instead are going to a great friend's birthday party which should be a really fun evening....)

....I shall be making several birthday wishes this year....
and this will be my mantra for the year ahead....

Thank you as always for reading this week and for all your fabulous comments....have a wonderful week-end!

Wordless Wednesday....

....is this the most beautiful dress in the world? Perfection....

Happy Wednesday!
