....a little bit of everything today....
....peace and quiet, a large mug of tea, a stack of magazines...and a long to-do-list....
...trying to ignore the fact that even with lamps, lights and candles on, it is still another dark, cold and rainy day in London Town....
....I know we all start to think of holidays when January arrives, daydreaming of sunny beaches and long days....I seem to be obsessed with travelling right now! Am planning/researching not one but four different trips/holidays....my favorite right now being Morocco for a long (birthday) week-end....am also thinking of Rome, Naples, Barcelona, Bath....and Disneyland Paris....
Loving right now....
Kate Walsh in "Private Practice" - the spin off from "Grey's Anatomy"....loved her as Addison in that and have just started the boxset of Season 1 of "PP"....
....the Jo Malone Pom
egranate Noir cologne and body lotion I received for Christmas....
absolutely gorgeous....
Recommended by Tracy at Then I Got To Thinking ....told from the point of view of the family dog, it's a beautiful, moving - and funny - read.

Soup!
I am not a great or instinctive cook but am trying to be better. This last week I have been making soup....and after 5 days and 3 different soups, I am feeling ridiculously proud of myself....although I have to confess that my soup doesn't look quite as delicious as the one above....got to work on that :)
Going to see "The King's Speech" tonight....Colin Firth, G and T's and MnMs....what more could a girl ask for?!
Amen to that!
Happy Wednesday!!

Ahh morning Simone - if it's any consolation it's miserable weather down South too. I am with you on the holiday planning - neeeed to get it all sorted so I can start day dreaming. Of the places you listed I have done Rome, Barcelona and Bath all of which I heartily recommend. They would be right up your street...Bath Spa is wonderful if you go at twilight in the heated outdoor pool. And Barcelona - best tapas on the waterfront. And Rome...well that's just wonderful no matter where you go. My Dad lived there for a few years so I was lucky enough to do a few trips.
We go skiing at the end of Feb so I have that one to look forward to - however that's a little too much activity for my liking, I am a beach girl and really just want to lay like broccoli for a few weeks :-) Lou Lou xx
Is there a better comfort food than soup? I don't think so! Enjoy your movie, be sure to tell us what you thought of it.
Happy Wednesday Simone..loving all your thoughts. I received Jo Malone's Pomegranate Noir candle for Christmas...perfect scent for days like today..grey skies over Surrey too :) Eating lots of soup to knock back what I now call the Surrey Flu...
Best wishes...

I have a white winterland outside, I would take rain over that. We have a snow day here in the northeast - my kids do I had to take the day off, afraid to drive in the snow. However I did buy some good ingredients to make some foods, hopefully a soup. I too am so into wanting to make soup, maybe a minestrone or Pasta Fagioli. What soups did you make?
I am also looking to travel this year as well. Thinking....

Hi Simone, I too am going to see "The King's Speech" tonight, hope it lives up to the great reviews it has received.
Happy Wednesday.
Love Kate Walsh! She's so gorgeous and oh so talented. I too am planning holidays, Simone! I just booked a ticket to London for the spring. Looking forward to seeing family and exploring a bit more.

Cannelle et Vanille is my favourite food / photography blog. Gorgeous every time.
We've started to think about our May holiday too. This grey rain is getting to me already. As always, Florida Gulf Coast is high on the list. So perfect that time of year.
I shall be passing through Edinburgh airport again in a couple of weeks, and the Jo Malone shop is where I shall be heading! Such gorgeous fragrances.
have a great one! we are having a snow day, although I fear it will melt by noon...
xx
I am loving all that you are loving right now - everything is just right up my alley. LOVE Private Practice and Kate Walsh, love that last poster(as I am a major dunker) and the Jo Malone - wonderful scent (sadly I did not receive it but glad you did.) Your day inside with tea, magazines and quiet sounds very nice to me - can I trade you for a day? :) Soups are my fave anytime of the year, but I am currently obsessed with a cream of tomato soup with veggie crackers...yum!! Have a beautiful day and stay warm! xxoo :)
Dear Simone, isn't london dreary at the moment? I have the lamps, fairy lights and candles on to cheer things up. I have plenty to distract me and luckily I love being at home.
I love making soup, persevere with it as it's such a great thing to cook.
I'm dying to seeing The King Speech. I hear it's fantastic. Have a wonderful evening xx
What a perfect Wednesday ~ except for the rain of course! I am too planning our spring vacation which will be around birthday time. You will love Private Practice Simone ~ this season I think has been the best but I do love them all. They have also done some crossover shows so not sure how they work that into the boxed sets... It is storming here right now and I made a casserole for supper but I think soup is on the agenda for the week-end. My next book purchase is "You Had Me at Woof" ~ I have a gift card just burning a hole in my wallet! Hope you enjoyed the movie. xo
I made a glorious stew this week while the snow fell outself. Chocl full of soo many vegetables (pretty much all of them about to go bad in the fridge) and stew meat. I let it simmer all day adding some basil here and some red wine there. My husband is a big fan of cooking by smell and tasting when I need to. All it takes is a little bit of love.
I was watching Grey's on DVD when I got pregnant with my son. I knew I'd use Addison as a name if I had a girl. It's Little Bit's middle name.
