my happy place + my August holiday destination
my husband's favourite dessert.....I've never made it, maybe that can be my week-end challenge :)
No, I am not advocating this....but it did make me smile :)
If you had told me a month ago that I would have had the stresses/strains/worries and sitations that I have experienced this week with my Dad (who, for those of you who don't know, is very ill right now)....I would have told you that I wouldn't be able to cope with any of it.
But I/we did cope and we survived. We got through it.
I guess it's the "teabag" theory ie, not knowing how much hot water you can endure until you are totally in it up to your ears.
We made it and are ready for whatever happens next.
Proof maybe that if you think you can do it, you really can.
I have two younger brothers and I wouldn't have said we were always close but we have proved to be a brilliant team so far and I feel very proud of them and the way we have worked together since goodness knows it has been an emotional rollercoaster.
I remain resolutely optimistic though and determined to focus on the positive.
Good weather is forecast for the week-end and I am going to two great parties this week-end.
A friend is having a Casino Royale party for her 40th birthday complete with champagne, roulette tables and live band....I would love to tell you that I am spraying myself with gold paint or wearing a white bikini but I will in fact just be looking as glam and Bond-girl-like as I can (in my dreams!)
On Sunday my lovely friend H is having a summer garden party prior to having her 6TH child and before moving away from Muswell Hill :(
Happy Week-end everyone!!

Beautiful images! Yes, Uma looks amazing - she gets more beautiful with age. So sorry to hear about your dad. Hope things are improving and that your stress levels are down a bit.
Hope things continue to improve for your family.
You are so right, Simone about not realizing how strong you were until you were faced with unimagined family issues. I also was faced with that and couldn't imagine getting thru it - but we all seem to. We are much stronger than we think! Much love to you on what looks to be a fabulous weekend for you! Your vacation spot looks so wonderful and that dessert your hubby loves is also one of my faves! Hugs, smiles and sunshine to you, lovely Simone! xxoo :)
Dear Simone,
It's so lovely to hear that you have the support of your brother's at such a difficult time. I'm so pleased that you are not having to cope with it all alone ( although, I know you have your husband to help you so you had best get cracking on that dessert !!!! ).
Sound's as if you have a great weekend ahead of you that will take your mind off of things for a while. ....... very important.
Oh, and I always wished that I had had freckles like the first image !!
Enjoy your weekend Simone and have a G&T or seven !! XXXX
Thinking of you Simone and glad to hear that you have the support of your family around you. Sounds like you have two welcome breaks in front of you this weekend, enjoy!

Beautiful images. Those pretty flowers make me want to go and buy a big bunch of them right now!
I so hear you on this... My mother is quite ill right now as well, but her spirit is so strong. I am continuously inspired by her. Sometimes it's amazing to look back like, "how did we manage to get through that?" but somehow we do. We are strong women. You are a strong women. Let's not forget that!
Hope you have a wonderful day, Love.

Simone, I am so sorry for everything you are going through right now with your dad. That must be so terrible. You are very right, if you think you can get through all of this, you can! Keep your chin up. Sending hugs and good thoughts your way!
Darling you are on my mind so often and I think about your father, who I know is so very ill.
Though you say you are not all that close to your brothers, it is nice to have siblings in situations like this. It helps to be part of a 'clan' where everyone works cohesively.
I hope that you are able to have a wonderful weekend despite your worries
Biggest hugs from the bottom of the globe to the bottom of your ironing basket..! x

I am a believer of the saying that God will not put upon us anything we cannot handle ~ it sure tests us though. It is also amazing how family can come together as a unit when required... big hugs from me to you. Have fun at your parties ~ they both sounds like so much fun!! xo
Have a wonderful time Simone, you deserve it. You will get through the hard times, it's amazing where we find our inner strength.
Have a wonderful weekend.
xoxo

Dear Simone, hope things are getting better.
M&S do the most brilliant creme brulée. I don't even bother putting the sugar on I just eat them as they are.
Hope you had a lovely time at your parties xx
