Me and My Monday....

The last week of term is finally here....woo hoo!! Only 4 more days :)

In all honesty, the last week of the school year is always bittersweet for me - I am glad that the finishing line that represents the last day is finally in sight but yet I also know that my children are one year older, another year has flown by and, yet again, I wonder where the time has gone?
I don't want to wish the time away....particularly since this September my daughter starts her last year at primary school and I know we need to enjoy every minute of it.

This week is one of school assemblies, a breakfast picnic, a netball tournament, a class show and one final school trip - yes, all in just four days!!
We received school reports last week and this week is one of fun and games....as it should be.

I am also finishing off my pre-summer-clearout-organisation-challenge, I have not one but two leaving lunches for my lovely friend H who is moving away and a dinner tonight with some wonderful new (mum) friends.

My summer holidays were definitely one of the golden times of my childhood, long hot days of playing on the beaches in Wales with my grandparents - I used to take the train there by myself (in the days when you could safely do so!) and stay for 4 weeks or more, it was truly idyllic.

I love to have a plan for the summer - apart from our family holiday to France, we will also be sightseeing in London, learning to play tennis, going to Wales, cycling in the local woods....and reading :)
I've lived in London since I was six years old but there are still so many places in London that I haven't visited....so I've made a list and off we will go :)

I do find that getting it all done now = long days of freedom and spontaneity when the hols start :)

I will be away in the south of France for three weeks in August and wondered if any of my readers would like to contribute a Guest-Post while I am away :)

You know my style so it would be nice if it would be something that would compliment my blog although it doesn't have to....please email me if you would be interested - let me know what you would like to write about.
And if you've written for me before but would like to do so again, I would love that :)
You can provide images - if you want - and of course link to your own blog - I would like to approve it before publication and would need it by August 10.

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday Simone......you certainly have lots to look forward to this last week of term. It only seems like the other day that you were telling us that your son was starting school. Doesn't time fly ? Not so good when you get to my age !!!! haha.
Enjoy every minute of your children's end of term special assemblies etc. and look forward to some well deserved R&R in France. XXXX

Oh, Simone, time does fly when you have children...but you will always remember the glory days. I know. And, I would love to post for you again. Maybe on Thursdays when I can link up with a big blog party over here, so it will be beautiful tablescapes. Sending love, my sweet friend.
