it's been a busy and productive week....
children settled back at school....me into my new routine....
it's nice to have it back :)
autumn appears to have really started, altho the last couple of days have been beautifully sunny....
saw "Jane Eyre" at the cinema - perfect casting, beautiful desolate setting, would totally recommend the film...it was wonderful
reading "The Hand That First Held Mine" by Maggie O'Farrell and loving it....
watching "Private Practice" and "Mad Men" on boxsets
the Audrey Hepburn quote above really resonated with me this week....
i have several friends who have all had family issues of different sorts this week
(sick children & parents) mostly...
all I could do was offer friendship, listen and lot, make coffee and give hugs....
just be there.
think i've made my decision about schools for my daughter next year....
met with her teacher today for a class chat. it helped!
Yr6 sure is different from Yr5....
all change once again.
made some new plans, i have some very fun blog stuff coming up.
off to a new class tomorrow :)
looking forward to London Fashion Week next week, always fun and exciting!!
thank you very much for all the lovely comments on my summer holiday post....
i will be posting more about my summer book reading (as requested!) next week....
have a wonderful week-end :)

I LOVED Jane Eyre...Mia Wasikowska was the perfect Jane, plain and beautiful at the same time! And who can't love Michael Fassbender...
ReplyDeleteI read "The Hand That First Held Mine" not long ago, and loved it.
Blessings,

Oh, Simone, you have no idea how timely that Audrey quote is for me too! It sounds like you have alot of interesting things up your sleeve - can you please shoot me over some of your energy? haha....I am in need of some! I hope you have a fabulous weekend. Sending you much love and many hugs! xxoo :)
ReplyDeleteLovely words and lovely images to go with them. You're back on your game !!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous images as always Simone. LOVE Private Practise; just started season 4 here in Spain.
ReplyDeleteAlso love the quote about ships not made to stay in the harbour. It's the quote I read all the time when I was moving to Spain, and fear would suddenly overcome me; it worked!
Can't wait to read about your exciting new projects.
Beautiful Autumnal images today Simone....I love the Autumn and all of the clothes that go with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased that you have settled on a school for your daughter. That must be a weight off of your mind.
Have a lovely weekend and I'm looking forward to your 'fun blog stuff' !!!! XXXX
Hello! You've made a decision about schools - oh lucky, lucky you - everything will hang in the balance for us until February! Ugh. Lovely set of images today - apples on the grass...that is what my garden looks like at the moment and no matter how many years this happens (this is the 7th) I can never keep up with processing them. I already have a freezer full of stewed apples! There is only so much one family can eat. Always makes me think of that 80s film with Diane Keaton where she goes into the baby food business with her surplus apples.
ReplyDeleteAnyway my sweet Simone - it is indeed a fabulous Friday - this week has been quite hectic for me and I am looking forward to the weekend!! Lou x
Oh, goodie - I needed a recommendation about 'Jane Eyre'. Thanks, Simone - I'll see it this weekend. J x
ReplyDeleteYeah for the school choice Simone and for a new routine. Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for your blog. Hugs to a great week-end sweet girl. xo
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post, Simone...and beautiful images too.
ReplyDeleteI love that Audrey Hepburn quote...so true.
Have a wonderful weekend.
