Fashion Classics : The Camel Coat

A fashion classic : the camel coat.

I've no idea if the camel coat is a current trend or not....
it was in A/W13 but that's probably old news by now....
but I've noticed one or two recently on Pinterest & that got me thinking about it as a fashion the images I've included in this post, they are all worn slightly differently but all look so stylish.

And I guess that's what makes it a classic in my book....
it's timeless, can be worn by anyone of any age, it can be dressed up or down, it simply looks very elegant. And pretty cool too.
I think it's one of those items that every wardrobe should have.

I used to have a beautifully tailored men's jacket in camel which came from Brooks Brothers in NYC, I've a horrible feeling that I donated it to a charity shop. Big mistake!

Some online finds....

  1. The camel coat has been going for decades and never seems to date ….. shame that you threw yours away Simone !!!!! This is why I very rarely throw good pieces away.
By the way, did you see The Great Interior Design Challenge last night where three different designers decorated 3 bedrooms in Edwardian houses in Muswell Hill ? I thought of you !!!! XXXX

  2. I love camel coats. They go with everything!

  3. I remember my mum's camel coat - thick soft and so luxurious. Also donated!!! Ahhhh. These ladies certainly look so stylish in theirs and I don't think they will ever be out of style.

  4. You can't beat the classic camel your choices here or indeed the classic camel poncho :)
    Enjoy your week, Simone xx

  5. I've had a camel coat for years and it's still fabulous! I part with many things in my closet but jackets and coats I keep for a long time. I hope all is going well with you! xxoo

  6. I've always wanted a great camel coat but can't seem to find one that doesn't wash out my complexion - which is very fair and pink - they look amazing on all of the pics you posted!
